Canine Training Manager

ICTS UK Canine are recruiting for a committed, dedicated and experienced Canine Training Manager. You will need to be flexible, experienced, detail orientated, adaptable, and conversant with the following accreditations:

  • National Canine Training Accreditation Scheme Private Security (NCTAS-P)
  • National Association of Security Dog Users (NASDU)

    • Level 4 Explosives
    • Level 3 Drugs & Pyrotechnics
    • Level 2 Patrol Dogs

  • NPCC/ACPO
  • National Aviation Security Programme (NASP)

Place of Work - Our Training Centre is at Farndish, but there is a requirement to travel, with the possibility of overnight stays.

Salary: £42,000pa

Essential:

  • Proven experience of training Detection Dogs and General Purpose Patrol Dogs to exacting standards.
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Initiative-taking
  • Teaching Qualification to Level 3 or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
  • Background checks will be conducted to Counter Terrorism Checks (CTC) level
  • Right to work in the UK
  • 5-year checkable history

Desirable:

• Prior Police, Military or Government Agency dog training qualification.

Role profile:

  • Carry out Canine and Handler assessment and selection processes
  • Conduct Initial and Continuation Dog and Handler Training
  • Be physically able to perform the role of a trainer in all classifications of dog work
  • Communicate and liaise with other team members, stakeholders, and outside agencies on a regular basis, providing regular and accurate updates on the team's performance
  • Complete detailed training records and generate corrective training plans to ensure all dogs meet the Home Office and/or Governing Body standards
  • Ensure the health and welfare of dogs is maintained at all times
  • Maintain and ensure safe handling of training samples, prevent cross contamination, and ensure longevity of samples through correct storage and handling techniques
  • Drive company vehicles as required. (Company vehicle and fuel card supplied)
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments as required.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and project equipment
